Opinions about the New Blended Learning System

Opinions+about+the+New+Blended+Learning+System

Many schools had to switch to remote learning because of the rapid spread of COVID-19 starting in March 2020. Now that schools have just recently opened again here in New York City, there are new processes and sets of rules that require obedience and patience from all students, teachers and staff members.

The New York City Department of Education cultivated the idea of online learning with blended learning to reduce the number of people around each other in a school while being able to keep up with education at the same time.

Along with this plan, there are some implications according to students who attend WJPS with coming to school once a week and the rest of the days, you’re learning from a computer.

WJPS senior, Layla Rodriguez said that she enjoys online school because it is a better fit for her. “I enjoy the routine of going to school at 8:30 and leaving at 12:30.”

WJPS senior, Erick Garcia said, “Yeah school is nice and short now, but what about the normal times of raising your hand in class instead of having to unmute your microphone.”
